CARE is an academic research centre based in Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. Our investigators and staff conduct multidisciplinary research in ageing from a comprehensive gerontological perspective, combining biological, social, medical, and environmental perspectives. CARE also spearheads educational programmes to build competencies on ageing amongst researchers, policy and programme professionals.

The Institute of Geriatrics and Active Ageing (IGA), part of Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), was established in September 2012 to be at the forefront of TTSH’s expansion of research and training initiatives to serve our rapidly ageing population. Above and beyond conducting novel ageing research for earlier diagnosis and better management of geriatric conditions, IGA embarks on innovative models of geriatric care and technological innovations through partnerships.

Singapore General Hospital, a member of Singapore Health Services, is the public sector's flagship hospital. Established in 1821, SGH is Singapore's largest acute tertiary hospital with 1,700 beds and national referral centre offering a comprehensive range of 36 clinical specialties on its campus. Every year, about 1 million Singaporeans benefit from advanced medical care delivered by its 800 specialists. Established in 2000, Singapore Management University (SMU) is recognised for its high-impact multi-disciplinary research that addresses Asian issues of global relevance, and for its innovations in experiential learning. With 10,000 students, SMU offers bachelors, masters and PhD degree programmes in Accountancy, Business, Economics, Information Systems, Law and Social Sciences, and executive development programmes. Tan Tock Seng Hospital is one of Singapore’s largest multi-disciplinary hospitals with 173 years of pioneering medical care and development. The hospital has 45 clinical, allied health and pharmacy departments as well as 16 specialist centres. It also has three institutes that are spearheading care, research and innovations in geriatric medicine, infectious diseases and ophthalmology. Powered by more than 8,000 healthcare staff, TTSH sees over 2,500 patients at its specialist clinics and some 460 patients at its emergency department every day. TTSH is part of the National Healthcare Group, providing holistic and integrated patient care.

GeriCare@North aims to increase access of nursing homes to specialised geriatric care in an efficient and cost effective manner. We also strive to enhance care of residents in nursing homes by providing clinical care and training for nurses.
Our vision is for nursing homes to become warm, homely and lively places for our old people to age in, with grace and dignity.
