Adjunct Assistant Professor Ng received his MBBS degree from the National University of Singapore in 1997 and completed his MMed degree in family medicine in 2006. He was then awarded the FCFP (Singapore) in 2010 and went on to complete specialisation in palliative medicine in 2012.

He presented and participated in international palliative care and advance care planning conferences across Canada, Singapore, the USA, Hong Kong and in Taiwan. He has research interests in palliative care and advance care planning.
