Person-Centred Care of Nursing Homes in Singapore
Ongoing
Objective
Little is known about the physical, mental health and the extent of person-centred care practiced in the nursing homes of Singapore. GERI collaborated with SSHSPH and KTPH to characterize the level of person-centred care provided in nursing homes with the use of Dementia Care Mapping tools and to evaluate the quality of life of nursing home residents. Additionally, the relationship between care practices and quality of life of nursing home residents will also be assessed.
The project also aims to document the spectrum of patient-centredness of nursing homes in Singapore with the goal to advise policymakers on the practical and evidence-based steps needed to improve patient-centredness in local nursing homes. Potentially 11 nursing homes have expressed interest to come on board.
