Research Associate
Araviinthansai Subramaniam is a Research Associate specialising in qualitative research. His current research endeavours in GERI spans across the hospital and community settings aimed at informing practice and policy. They primarily involve the evaluation of the implementation of programmes relating to frailty and palliative care, including research on social isolation and loneliness among older adults. He was also awarded Silver for the Singapore Young Investigator Award (Health Services Research) at the Singapore Health & Biomedical Congress 2025.
Prior to joining GERI, Araviin has worked as a researcher in the social service and non-profit sectors, including at the National Voluneer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) and the National Council of Social Service (NCSS). He received a Master of Gerontology (Applied Research) (2023) from the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and is the recipient of the Alice Lim Memorial Fund Gold award for the programme.
His research interests also include ageing-in-place, caregiving, and intergenerational relationships.
