Associate Professor Yap has a keen interest in infocommunications technology in healthcare, palliative and end-of-life care, long-term care and dementia, including quality of life, psychosocial and carer issues as well as validation of instruments.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1995 and went on to complete his MRCP (UK) in 1999. He is published widely in international peer-reviewed journals, sits on the advisory panels and committees of organisations in eldercare and is a board member of Assisi Hospice.
