Dr Serene Nai
Research Fellow
Dr Serene Nai is a quantitatively trained researcher specialising in programme evaluation. She holds a PhD in Psychology from Singapore Management University. Her key methodology focuses on quantitative and health economics evaluation with some understanding of implementation science.
During her work at GERI, she has led quantitative evaluations for major projects on frailty and intrinsic capacity. Her notable work includes the multi-site evaluation of the Geriatric Service Hub (GSH) and I-CREATE, an inpatient intrinsic capacity screening programme. Her contribution to the GSH evaluation earned her the Young Investigator Award at the Singapore Health and Biomedical Congress in 2022, and a publication in the Journal of Frailty and Ageing.
Prior to GERI, Dr Nai’s research centred on relationships and well-being among individuals. She is currently integrating this focus into her GERI work via projects examining social isolation and well-being among older adults.
Beyond research, Dr Nai also organises the GERI Research Sessions, a platform for researchers to share findings and support peer learning in the domains of health policy, evaluation, and implementation science.
