Dr Tou is a public health researcher who leverages implementation and behavioural sciences to translate research evidence into actionable practices and impact.
He strongly believes that exercise is medicine, and his research work focuses on advancing equitable implementation of evidence-based exercise prescription to improve population health. He has led and worked on implementation research projects across hospital and community settings to support older adults with frailty, sarcopenia, and dementia.
He is passionate about using data to gain insights and solve problems. His expertise includes study trial design, evidence synthesis, and statistical analysis. He has published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of the American Medical Directors Association (JAMDA) and European Review of Aging and Physical Activity.
He holds a PhD in sports science from Nanyang Technological University. He is also currently an adjunct faculty at Singapore Institute of Technology.
