The Baduanjin study, led by researchers from GERI and the Tsao Foundation, examined the effectiveness and implementation of this low-intensity Qigong exercise intervention in Active Ageing Centres in Singapore.
Results from the randomised controlled trial suggest that Baduanjin is a safe, acceptable, and feasible form of physical activity for older adults with varying levels of frailty.
Baduanjin is a mind-body exercise comprising of eight simple movements that integrate posture, meditation, and slow, controlled actions, making it well-suited for older adults.
