Health Springs: An Innovative Wellness and Fall Prevention Approach for Singaporean Elderly in High Rise Housing
Completed
Objective
This study promotes a salutogenic approach to wellness, health and eldercare as Singapore's health policy favours Ageing in Place as a long term care strategy for elderly population. As bathrooms are major sites for falls for older adults in the community, a qualitative study will first be done to map the current built environment and experiences in bathing of our older population in the North of Singapore. Results from the qualitative study will be used to co-design new bathing experiences and spaces in the prevention of falls. This is done by validating with experts using visual simulation.
